Version 4.1

   Spell Checking Layer Labels

ArcGIS labels are textual objects associated with ArcMap layers. The textual content of a label is derived in whole or in part from its layer's attribute table. It is determined by its layer's labeling rules.

The content of labels coming from an attribute table can easily be proofed and possibly be corrected by spell checking the labeling fields from the table.

If errors are found, they are listed in the Potential Errors dialog where users can interact with them.

Important Notes

  • Spell checking layout pages will not spell check layer labels.
  • The Professional Edition of MapSpeller is required to proof tables and therefore labeling fields.
