  MapSpeller™ Target Objects
The MapSpeller extension can detect and correct spelling errors in the following ArcGIS® target objects:
  1. Map and layout annotations
  2. Legends, including corresponding layer names
  3. Scale text objects
  4. Scale bars
  5. Tables (field values), including
    1. Geodatabase annotations fields
    2. Labeling fields

Layer labels and geodatabase annotations are spell checked through their associated table fields.

When spell checking layouts or maps, MapSpeller doesn't differentiate text objects based on their belonging to grouped graphics or not. If the type of object is set to be spell checked, all their occurrences will be spell checked regardless of their positions within or outside of grouped graphics. This is very convenient to end users as grouped graphics don't have to be broken down to their individual objects for them to be spell checked.
