Interacting with Potential Typos

When running, the MapSpeller™ spell-checker gathers errors and correctly spelled replacement suggestions based on user-specified spelling options and targets. If such typographical or positional errors (typos) are found, the software displays them in the Potential Typos dialog. One potentially misspelled word per row. It also displays the name of the container in which the typos reside.

Left-clicking

Left-clicking on a row flashes the potential typo in the layout view, data view and/or table, depending on the type of object in error.

Right-clicking

Right-clicking on a row highlights its word in the layout view, data view and/or table (depending on the type of object in error), and displays a context menu from which users can:

Navigate around the potential typo to better understand what its spelling should be
Overwrite the word with a replacement word suggested by the spell-checker
Overwrite the word by typing a new one
Instruct the software that the word is correctly spelled
Bookmark the word so it can be processed later on
Ignore the word

Sorting

The typos can be sorted alphabetically or by target container by clicking on the corresponding column header.
