The MapSpeller 3.1 Standard Edition spell checks the same objects, minus tables, geodatabase annotations and layer labels.  MapSpeller 3.0 is for ArcMap 9 while MapSpeller 3.1 is for ArcMap 10. They are not interchangeable.

MapSpeller 3.0 and 3.1 come with American-, British-, and Canadian-English dictionaries. In addition, they allow users to build personal dictionaries and Locationaries.

The MapSpeller functionality is delivered as a single-user ArcMap extension but is compatible with both Single and Concurrent User versions of ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo. It is licensed in a variety of ways.

The next version of MapSpeller, version 4.0, is expected to be released in March 2012.
