Edgetech America, Inc., the inventor and developer of MapSpeller for ArcGIS, is pleased to offer you the world's first GIS spell-checker (U.S. patent No. 7,681,126). MapSpeller spell checks GIS maps, layouts and databases conventionally and/or geographically (spatially).

The ArcMap™ MapSpeller extension is for all ArcGIS Desktop users who want to avoid the embarrassment, delays and costs of typos on their maps. Simple to install and easy to use, the MapSpeller extension is an ingenious and effective tool that will quickly pay for itself by saving users the cost of expensive reprints.

The MapSpeller 3.1 Professional Edition and MapSpeller 3.0 proof and correct text in:

• Map and layout annotations,
• Legends (including layer names),
• Scale bar and scale text objects,
• Grouped graphics,
• Tables,
• Geodatabase annotations, and
• Layer labels.

The MapSpeller 3.1 Standard Edition spell checks the same objects, minus tables, geodatabase annotations and layer labels.  MapSpeller 3.0 is for ArcMap 9 while MapSpeller 3.1 is for ArcMap 10. They are not interchangeable.

MapSpeller 3.0 and 3.1 come with American-, British-, and Canadian-English dictionaries. In addition, they allow users to build personal dictionaries and Locationaries™.

The MapSpeller functionality is delivered as a single-user ArcMap extension but is compatible with both Single and Concurrent User versions of ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo. It is licensed in a variety of ways.

The next version of MapSpeller, version 4.0, is expected to be released in March 2012.
